The baby will be due May 21, 2012. This is about the biggest thing that has happened to us since we got married and we are excited about it. Britney has been to the doctor a few times and so far so good. We got to listen to the heart beat last week, and then I talked the doctor into a free ultrasound. It was surprisingly easy to do. All we had to say was twins run in Britney's family, so he decided he would do a quick ultrasound to check for two. Britney was a little disappointed, but I was relieved. I have never changed a diaper so I thought it would be good to start out with one kid to learn the ropes.

Seeing the ultrasound and listening to the heart beat was a pretty surreal experience. It is amazing at 12+ weeks the baby is so well formed. There are a lot of new changes happening and making our lives much more interesting. Maybe if we get really motivated we will post more often to keep people updated to an extent, but with our history I wouldn't keep your fingers crossed.Robhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03278665109887563283noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-78729165307633016302011-04-20T22:03:00.000-07:002011-04-20T22:27:14.694-07:00Tests, Tests, TestsLet's see I have less than two weeks of classes left now that today is over. When I say classes I mean it. I have 2 weeks left of my 3rd year, so that means I will be starting my 4th year and that does not take place in a classroom. I 7 six week rotations and 1 rotation off. This is what I have been working towards this for 3 years now. It is a great feeling.

A lot of people think being a Pharmacist means counting tablets from a big bottle and putting them in a smaller bottle. However, this is not the only thing they have been attempting to teach us in school. Here is how I will spend the next year of my life. They tell us this is when all the pieces will fall into place. Something really has to break and I hope that thing is not me. I am very excited for this next year, even though it is very intimidating.

1st Rotation will be my off rotation so I don't officially start until June 27th.

2nd Rotation is the St. Alphonsus Surgery Floor. I might get to see some surgeries but for the most part we will be managing the patients meds on who are recovering from surgery.

3rd Rotation will be at the Terry Reilly Clinic in Nampa. This is an ambulatory care rotation, which just means the patients walk in and out of the clinic. We will get to manage diabetes and be a resource to the clinicians as they see their patients throughout the day.

4th Rotation is a mental health rotation at the Boise VA. This should be very interesting, but challenging at the same time. The medications are not so clean and dry and come along with a lot of side effects that need to be managed.

5th Rotation is a general medicine rotation and the ISU family practice residency. We will be in the clinic and the area hospitals assisting the medical residents in their residency.

6th Rotation will be at the Savon Pharmacy in Caldwell. This will be the retail experience I get. It will be nice to see another chain pharmacy other than walgreens to see a different approach.

7th and final Rotation will be at the West Valley Medical center in Caldwell. This is my hospital pharmacy experience. I am not super interested in working at a hospital, so I hope this is a good experience.

Next stop is graduation, the licensing, and law exams. If all goes well I will be a pharmacist.

Wish me luck and Britney because she is the one who has to deal with me studying and being out and about working. She is great and never complains.Robhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03278665109887563283noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-83287126724263676902011-02-06T13:44:00.000-08:002011-02-06T20:15:05.674-08:00It's Been a long TimeI thought maybe it was time to give at least an update on what we have been doing lately. It may shock a few people to see our blog jump to the top of their list. We have been surprisingly busy since school started back up again. At least I hope that is the reason. Neither one of us is good at thinking "that was a great experience, lets put it on the Blog." So, it never happens.

I have pretty much a regimented schedule that doesn't vary by all that much. I go to school every day and I work on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Britney works everyday at around 6:45 am and gets done at 3:15. She gets off at a great time but she has to wake up really early to get there before the first kid shows up. She works at a preschool for kids with behavioral problems.

We are now living in our own apartment. We found a nice townhouse apartment close to the downtown area of Meridian, and we like it. It is nice to be on our own again. It was hard having to start paying rent again, but oh well.

I would put a few pictures on here but I had to update my computer and part of the process was erasing the hard drive. I have everything saved on an external hard drive, but I haven't had time to put any of it back on the computer. That's about all we have had time to do. Nothing too exciting, but we are getting closer to being out of school and into real life. I found out I get to stay in the Boise area for my 4th year, and I'll find out this march where I'll actually be doing the rotations. I can't wait to be done. I haven't felt like this since my senior year of High School, but this time it is so much better. Until next time. Maybe it will be sooner but don't count on it.Robhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03278665109887563283noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-18343590544082324462010-07-20T14:26:00.000-07:002010-07-20T16:38:18.325-07:00Book Of Mormon TourWe had the great opportunity to go on the Book of Mormon tour in Central America. We started off in Mexico City then traveled through Mexico stopping off in several places and then on to Guatemala. After Guatemala we traveld to Honduras for around two days and then went to Guatemala city where we ended our tour. It was a very interested tour. The tour started off a little bumpy due to airplanes being cancelled and everyone going on different planes but ended well, all except for Rob getting sick on the last day. It would take me forever to write down everything that we learned and saw so I will just post a couple of pictures from our tour.

<img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5496130871697436210" style="DISPLAY: block; Sorry. Life has been pretty hectic with moving and just everything else.

So the month of June was amazing. We were able to spend a week with Robs family in Colorado. We all pitched in some money and rented a beautiful cabin. It was great to see all of Rob's family. Everyone was there except for Jess, but he had a good excuse. (he is on his mission in Russia!) Each day a couple would make breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For dinner, Rob and I decided to make spaghetti. Well being the new cooks that we are, we really didn't know how much spaghetti to cook for 14 people. Well I think the picture explains it all. Holy spaghetti!!!

It also snowed for three days while we were down there. Britney has apparently decided that it is her duty to change the background from time to time so I guess she must think it is my job to do the writing. Oh well I guess I can't really complain. I started a blog back in the summer and as soon as I broke my arm that went out the window. Maybe i'll update that one while i'm at it. We'll see how into it I get by the end of this.

We had a great Christmas with our families. We spent the whole time up in Boise this year. We were able to spend time with my parents before they left for Soda Springs and then the rest of the time was with the Richardson's. I got an IPOD touch for christmas with the excuse that I needed it for school. It will be useful when I get going this semester and the next two years, but I am having a lot of fun just playing games on the thing. So far I haven't allowed myself to pull it out in class to play. I haven't been too bored yet. Our break was nice and relaxing most of the time, but it was fun.

When we got home there was some great news in the mailbox for Britney. She got her GRE test results back and it turns out that she passed that dang test that she studied so hard for. Now she just has to decide what she wants to do with her pretty little life. She is having a great time teaching preschool to 3 and 4 year olds in the Small Talk speech pre school and also teaching piano. She now has 5 students.

We'll see how the blogging goes in the future. Maybe the next update will be sooner than 2 months.Robhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03278665109887563283noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-39443441963399959392009-11-22T13:36:00.000-08:002009-11-22T17:54:43.315-08:00Pearl and Squirrel are HereEmily had an emergency Caesarian yesterday and now Pearl and Squirrel are here. Pearl is on the right of the picture and Squirrel is on the left. They haven't named them yet because they came earlier than expected, so I took it upon myself to give them temporary names. If they take too long I may not be able to switch their names in my head so they better hurry. Anyway there the two little girls are. Incase Liz reads this call Emily. She has been trying to get a hold of you.

Robhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03278665109887563283noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-89882292207645063112009-10-04T12:46:00.000-07:002009-10-04T13:08:16.548-07:00A little UpdateWell it has been a long time since we updated on anything that we have been doing. We have been keeping pretty busy with school and work lately. Britney has a new job teaching preschool in a speech therapy preschool. They have her doing the lesson plans for their school days. She has fun with it and has funny stories from the little kids.
I've started school again and I've been a lot busier this year than last year. We've started our modules and actually we are two weeks from finishing our first one, Pulmonary Renal system. I've learned about asthma, COPD, Emphysema, Kidney disease, and many more things along with all the drugs used in each of the disease states. It's been really intense but nice knowing that I am learning what I need to for my career. It's pretty amazing how all these drugs have been invented to help people. There has been a lot of inspiration involved leading to drug discovery.

We are excited to have Megan and Mica and their kids coming home later this month. Anthony is getting baptized on the 24th. Britney is already decorating our house for her favorite holiday. Halloween. Most people think she is funny and I think she is a little bit crazy. At least it is fun at our house in october. You never know what will greet you at our house. We'll have to post some pictures of the haunted apartment when we get them.
Robhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03278665109887563283noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-65246287086222780212009-08-16T22:00:00.000-07:002009-08-16T22:07:50.175-07:00Home AloneWell Britney has been gone for over a week now. She gets back Tuesday night. I'm excited to have her back again. It has been pretty quiet around here so far. She is doing a great thing and I appreciate the service that she is rendering in Ecuador. I wish I could have gone along as a translator. Maybe the next time.

While I've been home alone I have worked ate and slept. I have also read an entire novel series called the Great and Terrible by Chris Stewart. It is an awesome series about the last days from the perspective of an LDS author. It has a great story line and the ability to open your eyes to what the the world is capable of doing in the last days. He knows his stuff and it will keep your attention from page one to the last page in the series. I would recommend it to anyone who likes to read.

I also went to the temple one night on my own. Since I have been married I haven't been to the temple alone. It was a good experience but not the same as having someone you care about and love with you. The same day I went and got my birthday meal at Red Robin. Britney signed me up and they gave me a coupon for a free meal. It was wierd sitting alone but I loved it when the waitor said you don't have a bill so feel free to leave when you want.

Anyway I've had enough alone time and I am ready for some company here in Pocatello again.
Robhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03278665109887563283noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-68993443555995721292009-08-06T16:06:00.000-07:002009-08-06T16:08:52.999-07:00EcuadorSo tomorrow I am boarding a plane and leaving for Ecuador with my mom and cousin. He wanted me to put these pictures on our blog so everyone can see his manly scar and bruises. He goes back to the doctor in about two weeks and they will tell him whether or not he will have to do physical therapy. If Rob works on getting his full range of motion back for these two weeks and succeeds then he won't have to go. So I guess we will see.

Britneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08538680929458394899noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-58474460687247575682009-07-22T19:29:00.000-07:002009-07-22T20:05:04.819-07:00Rob's Surgery
Rob had his surgery today. We had to be there by 6:00 am. Rob decided to work last night so he didn't sleep at all before his surgery. We got there at 6:00 am but they didn't start the surgery until 7:00 am. I was able to wait with Rob until he was wheeled off. The RN gave Rob some "happy" medicine and I thought it was so funny that when they were wheeling him away he was just all smiles. Life couldn't be any better for him, he was feeling good! The surgery was only suppose to last an hour so I was getting a little nervous when it reached 9:00 am and I hadn't heard anything. Soon after 9:00 am the doctor came in and talked with me. He told me that everything went well and they didn't have to do a bone graft!! Yeah!! He does have some screws, a plate, and an artifical spacer in his arm. They let me go see him in the recovery room. While I was there Rob was trying to tell the nurse that he was in pain but it came out in a very long slured speech. The nurse understood though, and i was impressed. Rob doesn't even remember me coming and seeing him. He is doing really well today. His arm hurts but thats understandable. He bascially has been sleeping all day which is good. We'll keep you posted.

Right after the surgery

Sorry about those last two pictures I don't know why they won't rotate. It was so good to see them!! On Friday, Beth, Travis, Rob, Dad and I went Frisbee golfing in 105 degrees! What were we thinking. By the ninth hole we were all sweaty! Did I mention the course wasn't shaded. That night we ate at Olive Garden then saw Harry Potter! It was a great movie.

On Saturday the weather was still blistering hot so we hung out in the pool pretty much the whole day! Later that night we went over to Emily and Jason's house to play a bored game. We had a great time seeing them!

Sunday Nicole and Shay came over and brought seven surprises, PUPPIES!!!! Lucy her dog just had 7 puppies around two weeks ago. They were so cute!! We also had a birthday party for Beth since we weren't going to see her on her acutal birthday. Just want to say Happy Birthday to Liz because Sunday was her birthday!

Rob put these dogs on me

My mom showing Beth her new "kids" the chickens

Britneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08538680929458394899noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-89461382623205952452009-07-16T14:45:00.000-07:002009-07-16T14:51:35.728-07:00Rob's ElbowRob and I went to the doctor again today to get a second look on his elbow. His elbow is still bothering him and it has been more than a month. This doctor had something completely different to say than the other doctor we saw two weeks ago. He told Rob that he needed surgery!!! So the doctor made an appointment for next Wednesday. Ahh!!!Britneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08538680929458394899noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-55254589173703418722009-07-11T21:58:00.000-07:002009-07-12T16:57:31.200-07:00Our Weekend!!On Friday night we went on a bike ride. We had never been to this course before so we decided to check it out. This course is kind of crazy, you have to throw your frisbee over the river on some of the holes. Of course my frisbee ended up in the water on one of my throws. Also I don't know what the deal was but my frisbee was a magnet for people. I seriously almost hit a whole family and a couple just relaxing by the river on two separate holes.

It was a pretty fun Saturday!!!!

Britneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08538680929458394899noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-71270342893825459132009-07-05T17:09:00.000-07:002009-07-05T23:20:29.130-07:00Happy Birthday Brothers!!!!

Happy 20th Birthday Kirk and Kyle!!!

Love ya!!

Kyle
Kirk

Britneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08538680929458394899noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-76656532461637371032009-07-05T15:39:00.000-07:002009-07-05T16:54:50.009-07:00Fourth of July Weekend!!!!
On Friday, Rob and I drove to Liz's house in Burley. Liz invited us to go with her and Dallins family to the Shoshone Falls and then swimming. The first thing we did when we arrived at the Falls was eat because there were three cars full of hungry people. Afterwards, we walked down to the Falls. It was a great time to go because the water level was high. He told me unfortunately there is nothing we can do, so their going to have to amputate. It's kinda sad, but I guess who needs two arms. Just kidding, but what he did say was that I had broken my arm somewhere in the past. Most likely it was when I was a sophomore in high school. I remember my arm hurt for like six months. Who knows why I never got an x-ray. Oh well. Dr. Coker told me that I was a freak of nature, and it healed with a nice thick scar. The only problem was that the bone scars don't always show up on x-ray. He said that I have a funny x-ray but a normal elbow for now. He said he is 99% sure that my elbow will be fine, but I have a follow up visit in two weeks to make it 100% sure. That was some good news. Apparently I did some bruising and spraining that should heal fine. The only problem was my freakish x-ray that didn't tell the whole story. I'm just glad that I know now and don't have to have surgery.
Robhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03278665109887563283noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-8473087082220572492009-06-24T18:47:00.000-07:002009-06-24T19:28:45.077-07:00My Broken Elbow
This last monday while playing softball on the same field where Britney hurt her shin, I broke my elbow. It started out as a normal game. We were doing pretty good. About the 4 inning I dove for a ball and when I planted my elbow to break the fall it felt like I kind of tweeked it. Then two innings later I dove going the other direction and planted the elbow the same way. When my hand made contact with the ground my elbow immediately popped. I knew it wasn't good, but being competitive I finished out the play. I have to say that both times I was able to make the play and get the outs. Anyway I went to the dugout in some pretty significant pain. I didn't want to give up so I kept playing and it hurt when I tried to throw. I pulled the last straw when I went up to bat. I got on base with a very weak hit and felt like my arm was going to fall off. When I got home I put some ice on my arm and took some Ibuprofen. By the end of the night I was able to sleep and woke up without much pain. The only problem was that my elbow was about twice the size of the other one. I decided that I should get it checked out. I made an appointment to go to the chiropractor down in Soda wednesday.

He was surprised to see my elbow so swollen and did some work on it to get some swelling out. He suspected that I had torn some ligaments but decided to take an x-ray for the fun of it. As soon as the x-ray was developed he had his nurse make an appointment for me with an Orthopedic surgeon in Pocatello. Then he showed me that I had in fact broken my elbow. He thinks that it is an old break from years ago that I didn't know about, and that I just rebroke it. So I will see the other doctor on wednesday and see what we have to do. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it isn't all that serious and will be an easy fix. Here are a few pictures of the injury.

Try and guess which elbow it is.

Here is my left arm x-ray for comparison. Everything was free for the kids except the food. This day was full of surprises. The first surprise of the day was Liz locking her keys in the car. Thank goodness she rolled down the window a little before we got out. We had to use a stick to unlock the car from the inside. Another surprise was when Liz and I were passing a booth at the fair and this lady addressed us as the moms. I think she thought we were a gay couple!

They had so many activities for the kids. Who knows how long I had been walking around with cotton candy on my leg.

Britneyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08538680929458394899noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-70996573017341175392009-06-12T23:30:00.000-07:002009-06-12T23:34:49.859-07:00My BlogWell I decided a while ago that I was going to write a book. It is more of a retroactive journal that I need to write. I decided that rather than just writing on my computer I would take advantage of this blogging idea and broadcast these stories as I go. I don't know if anyone other than my family will care but I just wanted to put it out there for people to enjoy. I plan on posting once a week or more often if I feel inclined to do so. Anyway I'm going to have fun with it so maybe someone else will also. Here is the link to the blog or you can click on it in the list.

www.itwasanaccident-rob.blogspot.com

Enjoy

Rob
Robhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03278665109887563283noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3092760268970038236.post-40497780142195618312009-06-06T19:23:00.000-07:002009-06-06T20:04:06.543-07:00Our Meager Little Garden
This blog is as a result of Brandon Hess. Jess left for the MTC on wednesday June 3rd. It was a really quick goodbye because the MTC is afraid of the Swine Flu spreading anymore that it already has inside. A total of 3 missionaries have it. Needless to say my Mom wasn't a happy camper after we threw Jess out on the curb and got run off by a cranky old Elder missionary. This is about the only decent picture we got of Jess before he had to go inside. We didn't even get to see his missionary tag.

On to other items of interest. Today when I got home from work Britney and I decided to see how green our thumbs really are. I planted actual plants in a big pot, which included: corn, carrots, peas, onions, and little tiny pumpkins. I really don't know if they will actually grow, but it will be fun to see what comes up. I'm mostly excited for the corn. I think it will be amazing if i can get it to grow in a pot. To tell you the truth there it probably too much trying to grow in one pot. Britney on the other hand got some flowers and and put them in her own pots.

This is my mini garden

This is Britney's flower garden in the process.

And here is the finished product.

We are having tons of fun being home this summer. I plan on figuring out how to add pictures and stuff like that. I've got time right now since I am home alone with Beautiful Britney hanging out with her Mom in Eagle. It was her birthday on Saturday, so we went up to celebrate with her family. Her family has gotten a little spread out recently. She has a brother on a mission in Alabama and another one in Norway. She has a sister who lives with her husband in Kentucky. Also her older sister was vacationing in Mexico for a few days. We had a a lot of fun playing frisbee golf and bowling, and you can't forget to mention good old homemade birthday cake.
If she was writing she would have to mention her favorite birthday meal "CRAB." Personally I am not a big seafood fan, but depending on the day I can handle crab and shrimp but never fish. I will probably never find a love for seafood. This year she asked me if I was going to eat crab and I said it all depends on the first bite. It was actually a prophetic statement, because the first bite I happened to be a bad piece of crab that tasted heavily of fish. I gagged it down and knew that this year wasn't meant to be. I settle for some breaded shrimp and left the table as soon as I got a little bit full. Britney wasn't sad though because that meant she got more of the crab.

She should be back tomorrow night, and I am glad. It isn't very much fun to sit around alone and know I have to homework without anything more exciting to do.
Robhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03278665109887563283noreply@blogger.com1
